Shalom (Sally vom Geistwasser )

shown at 24 weeks
She's retrieving nicely now. She loves the Cuz balls (they have squeakies). We're doing two toys, with me throwing the second when she drops the first, but often she will give me the one she has so I'm quite pleased with her progress. Just after I took these photos we got 8" of snow and I've been pleased with how intensely she hunts for her toy in the snow.
Shalom comes from Jennifer Acevedo & Bill Kulla, the people in
Chicago who own Kway, to whom I bred Quinta two years ago.
The CC litter, including my Lively, came from that breeding.
Bill & Jennifer import, breed, train and compete nationally in
Schutzhund. I really liked them and
their dogs when I took Quinta to be bred and have gotten to know them pretty
well the last two years. I really
like them and their dogs and trust their judgment, so I asked them a few months
ago to keep their eyes open for a male for me so I had a replacement for Chaos
coming up. When I learned that
Quinta had aborted or resorbed the litter that was due Labor Day weekend, so
that I don't know if I'll be able to breed her again (I wanted to breed her
again to Kway and keep another daughter), I e-mailed them that I would be open
if the right female pup came along.
Over the weekend I received a message from them:
"We
have a 14 week old Hilde daughter (father is the competition dog of a USA judge)
that we are keeping a full sister and brother to.
Hilde has been bred to Boy and to another outside male and these pups
with Cayos are of the same quality as the Boy/Hilde pups. The puppy that we have
available I’ve been hanging onto to find a working home for. She has tons of
drive, super nice outgoing temperament and the whole litter has shown themselves
to be extremely agile and fearless when it comes to surfaces.
Let me know if you’d consider (this) young female, otherwise I can keep
looking for you. I won’t offer you anything I wouldn’t consider for myself as I
know what your standards are. One of the things that made us excited to keep back
two puppies for breeding was the longevity of Cayos’ father Ufo.
He is similar to Asko in that regard, both himself and his siblings are
known for long, healthy lives. Cayos is still actively training at nine years
old and his owner is getting a son of his ready for competition next year."
Here is the
info about her off Bill & Jen's website:
We chose Cayos for Hilde not only because of his exceptional temperament and impressive accomplishments, but also because of the quality we have seen in his progeny. Cayos will be competing with his son, D'Cuda van Gogh, at the upcoming 2011 AWDF Championship. D'Cuda is the youngest dog in the IPO3 competition; his father Cayos, the oldest at eight years old.

H-CAYOS AV XAZZIAM SchH3 IPO3
Cayos is a powerful and driven son of the legendary Ufo van Guy's Hof, who recently passed away at 14.5 years old. This bloodline is known for its health and longevity: Ufo had a sister pass away one month short of 14 and a full brother lived until 13.
Cayos is an excellent representative of what the German Shepherd Dog can be: powerful and strong on the competition field and man's best friend and constant companion in life. Cayos has competed in 11 national championships, five regional championships and was a member of 2009 FCI World Championship team.
